'Seats are perishable:' How military personnel, Dallas police are helping Mavs tackle attendance conundrum

On the front row of American Airlines Center, more than 100 military personnel wearing white and blue "Mavs Company" T-shirts cheered on the Mavericks during the annual Seats for Soldiers night.

It's among the best nights of the year when season-ticket holders give up their seats so wounded warriors can see an NBA game from the really, really expensive seats.

Way, way up in section 332, where you can almost reach the rafters from the top row, there are 79 seats above a walkway that leads to the exit. There were seven people in that section at the end of the first quarter.
