Let's just call this what it is: a work in progress.
The Mavericks' starting unit wanted to get a nice, long run together Wednesday against Houston. So after seven minutes, they were behind 23-6 and coach Rick Carlisle summoned the reserves.
If the goal was to work on their chemistry, so far all the Mavericks have done is blow up their lab.
