The Texas Legends are set to announce Nick Van Exel as their new head coach.
The former Mavericks guard will replace Eduardo Najera, who spent three seasons leading the Legends and will rejoin the Mavericks in the scouting department.
Van Exel has paid his dues, working as an assistant coach with the Legends last year after previous coaching stints in Atlanta, Milwaukee and Portland.
Summer roster: The Mavericks expect to have their summer league roster filled in the next few days.
The roster already includes NBA veteran Jordan Crawford, undrafted rookie Kevin Pangos and draft picks Anderson and Satnam Singh.
