The Dallas Mavericks today announced that Michael Finley has been promoted to assistant general manager.
Finley, who had been rumored as a candidate for several front-office jobs over the past year, will work closely with new general manager Nico Harrison. Below is the official news release:

DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks announced today that Michael Finley has been promoted to assistant general manager/vice president of basketball operations. Finley previously held the title of vice president of basketball operations over the last seven seasons.
