Meltdown in the third quarter tops the takeaways in loss to Warriors

SAN FRANCISCO—The Dallas Mavericks probably woke up Saturday morning kicking themselves because they blew a 19-point lead Friday and lost Game 2 of this Western Conference Finals series to the Golden State Warriors, 126-117.

After winning two games at home, the Warriors now lead this best-of-seven series, 2-0.

“The Warriors are good,” coach Jason Kidd said. “They’re a good team. We executed there for a little bit.

“Again, the guys came out and executed from the start and put ourselves in a position to win on the road.”

The Mavs led, 72-58, after intermission after scoring 40 points during a massive offensive explosion in the second quarter.
