Five years ago, the Dallas Mavericks founded Mavs Take ACTION! (MTA)—a platform designed to unite the community, confront racial inequities, champion social justice, and create lasting change. What began as a courageous conversation in the wake of George Floyd’s murder has evolved into a multifaceted initiative that underscores the Mavericks’ role as leaders in the community and their commitment to driving meaningful change.
“A couple of weeks after George Floyd’s death at the end of May 2020, our CEO at the time, Cynt Marshall, held our first courageous conversation,” said Director of Mavs Take ACTION!, Sean Reed, who has led MTA programming since January 2022.
