Meanwhile, because Portland went into San Antonio and edged the Spurs, 107-106, also on Friday night, the Mavs now trail the Trail Blazers by two games in the race for the all-important sixth spot in the Western Conference.
Kristaps Porzingis led the Mavs with 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, Luka Doncic finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and a career-high 19 assists, and Tim Hardaway Jr.
