Jared Dudley stresses second chances at Mavericks’ court dedication

FORT WORTH – As he watched teenagers run around a shiny new basketball court at the Tarrant County Juvenile Services facility, Jared Dudley thought back to somebody close to him who, like the kids he saw Thursday, needed a second chance.

“My brother, for one,” the Mavericks’ assistant coach said. “I was the kid that didn’t get in trouble. He did. He got kicked out of school, kicked out of the military.

“And his second chance was to go back (to school) and become an air traffic controller. He’s successful. And he got kicked out of the house (beforehand).
