The Dallas Mavericks were hit with a sore reminder of last season’s trade deadline blunder from Nico Harrison on the first day of 2026, as Quentin Grimes played great on both ends of the floor en route to helping the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Mavericks 123-108. Meanwhile, Caleb Martin was practically a no-show in four minutes in the game, which has been a microcosm of Martin’s time in Dallas.
Grimes has lit up Dallas in two performances at American Airlines Center since coming back as a 76er, totaling 47 points. For comparison, Martin has only scored 64 points in 21 total home games for Dallas, which goes to show just how much of an abomination this trade was by Harrison.
