Irving took over down the stretch as Mavs edge Jazz, 120-116

Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr. combined for 86 points Tuesday night to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a hard-fought 120-116 victory over the Utah Jazz before a sellout crowd of 20,277 at American Airlines Center.

With the win – combined with Tuesday night’s losses by the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves – the Mavs vaulted two spots up the Western Conference standings from seventh to fifth place. The Mavs, who finished this six-game home stand with a 3-3 record, will now take their 34-32 record into a Wednesday 6:30 p.m. game in New Orleans against the Pelicans.
