PORTLAND, Ore. – Distractions aplenty couldn’t derail the Mavericks Thursday night.
And neither could a third-quarter meltdown that turned a blowout into a tight finish.
The Mavericks had Luka Doncic getting named a starter in the All-Star Game and were playing for the first time since the devastating injury to Dwight Powell and they still kept their focus laser-like as they outlasted the Portland Trail Blazers 133-125.
The Mavericks’ incredible road mastery continued as they improved to 15-5 in hostile environs and 28-16 overall behind a remarkable shooting display by pretty much everybody that stepped on the court.
