Here's what the Mavericks will be looking for when they get to the second round of the NBA draft

Proof is everywhere that NBA teams can find gold early in the second round of Thursday's draft.

Draymond Green is the poster child for -- among other things -- success stories among players picked between Nos. 31 and 35.

Mavericks fans remember Green as the player on the board when Dallas had back-to-back picks at Nos. 33 and 34 in the second round of the 2012 draft. The Mavs took Bernard James with the 33rd pick and Jae Crowder with the 34th.

James lasted three seasons in the league and played pretty much like a guy taken in the second round is supposed to play.
