If ever someone received a clear picture of what it's like to be the new go-to guy, Harrison Barnes got it this week.
Total heartbreak on Monday. Unbridled elation on Wednesday.
This is the way it goes for somebody who now clearly is the Mavericks' No. 1 option when they desperately need a basket. He'll no doubt get plenty of guidance from the player formerly known as the go-to guy, Dirk Nowitzki.
But Barnes already seems to have a pretty good grasp on things.
"When the team trusts you to have the ball in your hands late in the game and you miss a shot like that, you kind of beat yourself up a little," Barnes said.
