Former TCU star Desmond Bane scored 29 points and the Memphis Grizzlies held on to defeat the Dallas Mavericks, 97-90, Saturday night at American Airlines Center.
The Mavs, who played without their top two players – Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzings – lost for the seventh time in their last nine games and dropped to 11-11 on the season. Memphis, meanwhile, won its fourth straight game and improved to 13-10.
Doncic sat out the game with left ankle soreness, while Porzingis missed his second consecutive game with a left knee contusion.
The Mavs chopped a 16-point deficit down to 93-88 with 1:45 left after Tim Hardaway Jr.
