Utilizing their bench to get back in the game, the Mavericks (16-34) found themselves with a chance to win the game before veteran swingman Wesley Matthews’ three-pointer missed its mark as the clock expired. Now, the Mavs will look to bring their current skid to an end Monday night at home against Miami before venturing out on a four-game road trip. And while attempting to avenge a 113-101 loss in Miami back on Dec. 22, the Mavericks will try to come out more aggressive on their home hardwood.
“I liked a lot of what I saw in the game,” Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said after Saturday’s loss.
