Flagg dominates, but Mavericks fall to Spurs in summer league action

LAS VEGAS – The best news on Saturday was how much smoother Cooper Flagg looked in his second NBA Summer League game.

While the Mavericks as a whole again had a lot of choppy moments, Flagg dominated parts of Saturday’s 76-69 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. He finished with 31 points that came on a variety of high-flying dunks and three-point shots. He played 31 minutes and left to a rousing ovation with a minute left in the game.

The Spurs went on a 10-1 sprint in the first quarter to open up a 21-9 lead and the Mavericks were fighting uphill pretty much the rest of the game.
