NEW YORK – Devin Harris has been there, done that.
Like Cooper Flagg, he was a high draft pick who joined the Mavericks when they were ready to win big. He wasn’t going to a typical lottery team that was rebuilding.
“Similar situation coming into a team that’s established,” said Harris, who was the fifth overall pick in 2004 (by Washington, acquired in a draft-day trade by the Mavs). “When I got drafted, I had Mike Finley and Dirk (Nowitzki) and that team was known for winning 55 games every year.
“He (Flagg) is coming into that same kind of situation.
