Doncic scores 39 to lead Mavs past Blazers, 128-78

Home sweet home.

That’s what the Dallas Mavericks were likely chanting Friday night inside American Airlines Center after they clinched homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a 128-78 triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers. It was the 16th win in their last 21 games for the Mavs as they continue to take major steps with their third straight appearance in the playoffs set to start next weekend.

The Mavs will close out the regular season with a home game Sunday night at 8:30 against the San Antonio Spurs. And they will likely play that game without superstar point guard Luka Doncic.
