LOS ANGELES -- Doc Rivers doesn’t remember exactly when one of his favorite memories of Dirk Nowitzki occurred.
But he remembers the conversation surrounding it. And nearly all of it isn’t suitable for publication.
The Los Angeles Clippers coach recalled one game Nowitzki and the Mavericks played against Boston. At one point, former Celtics forward Kevin Garnett started cursing at Nowitzki. The Mavs forward returned fire with his own expletives -- in German.
“They were going back and forth and I thought it was absolutely hilarious,” Rivers said before Monday’s 121-112 win over Dallas. “They both meant it, but I don’t know if either one knew what either one was saying.
