Dirk Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade finale featured thrilling co-main event with a pair of Slovenians

MIAMI -- Fittingly, they were on the court together to the final buzzer, Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade, this court of all courts, one last time.

Miami and Dallas. Dirk and Dwyane. Like old times as Miami pulled out a 105-99 victory Thursday night at American Airlines Arena.

"Not quite for me," Nowitzki said after scoring 13 points in 27 minutes. "I don't move as well. But, yeah, it was a fun game, fun to compete. Just didn't make enough plays down the stretch."

That's the competitive side of Nowitzki, still, at 40, after playing perhaps for the final time in the arena where he experienced his biggest career heartbreak, the 2006 finals -- and his greatest moment, earning the 2011 NBA championship and finals MVP.
