DALLAS — Although he went into the offseason unsure of his summer plans, 13-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki made it clear Thursday to a crowd in Germany that he will compete with his home country’s national team in EuroBasket 2015, which begins in September.
Speaking to fans in attendance at a press conference of German Basketball Federation sponsor ING-DiBa in Frankfurt, Nowitzk announced that he will suit up with the squad as it plays host to Group B of EuroBasket 2015 in Berlin. And with a spot in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on the line, Nowitzki will certainly have plenty to play for as he tries to lead his team in intentional play.
