Dallas Mavericks fans were disappointed when Slovenia failed to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Reigning Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic could not play in the qualifiers because he was starring for the Mavericks.
Supporters may remember that the last time Doncic played for Slovenia, the country won EuroBasket 2017. He and his countryman Goran Dragic both made the All-Tournament team. It was a surprising result and in many ways Doncic introduction to being a star.
