Smith’s first triple-double performance was instrumental in propelling the Mavericks to its first three game winning streak of the season. He scored 21 points, collected 10 rebounds and had 10 assists in the win over the Pelicans. As great as Smith’s night was, the Mavs as a whole had an impressive night on the offensive side of the ball.
Six other players joined Smith with double-digit scoring performances of their own. Dirk Nowitzki and Harrison Barnes scored13 apiece and Wesley Matthews scored 18 to round out the starters. Devin Harris, Dwight Powell and J.J Barea added 17, 15 and 14 points off the bench.
