Last February, the Dallas Mavericks made what could become their most important non-draft trade (Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic trades do not qualify) in franchise history.
Dallas sent out Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, and two future first round picks to the New York Knicks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke, and Courtney Lee.
Porzingis had become disgruntled with the losing and constant roster and front office turnover during his four years in New York.
