It’s been hit or miss in the first and second round for Dallas. The Mavs have notoriously not put stock into their first round selection.
2018 was the exception and an incredibly lucky situation. The Mavericks struck gold in a draft day trade for Luka Doncic. Dallas gave up two first round picks in the deal, though.
The Mavs will see themselves skipping the draft in the first round with their 2019 lottery pick going to Atlanta to complete the Doncic trade.
