Courtney Lee joined the Dallas Mavericks as part of the trade headlined by Kristaps Porzingis on February 1st. He was considered a minor part of the “Porzingis tax” required to make the trade acceptable for the Knicks, but Mavericks fans were hopeful the 6’5” guard/wing could provide some depth and veteran leadership as the Mavericks worked on an on-the-fly rebuild.
But things never really got off the ground for Lee. After dealing with a neck injury for training camp and most of the early season, Lee played just 12 games with the Knicks in the first 50 contests.
