MIAMI – With Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic turning 21 on Friday, other team personnel were asked if they remember their 21st birthday.
“I don’t exactly remember, but I wasn’t going for my 22nd triple-double in a year-and-a-half,” coach Rick Carlisle said prior to Friday’s game against Miami. “I was either a freshman or a sophomore at the University of Maine in the fall and getting ready for another college basketball season.
“Things were quite different.”
The triple-double remark by Carlisle is in reference to the franchise-tying 21 triple-doubles Doncic has already accumulated in less than two years in the NBA.
