April 2019 is now known as the “Month of Dirk” in Dallas County thanks to Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Jenkins submitted the proclamation honoring Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki, which the county commissioners supported.
“Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby approves and recognizes the resolution Honoring Dirk Notwitzki –Dallas Mavericks Legend and#6 All-Time NBA Scorer,” the court order reads.
In attendance at the commissioners’ meeting to witness the event were Nowitzki’s wife, Jessica, and Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall were on hand to witness the event.
