SAN ANTONIO - As Dirk Nowitzki warmed up inside the AT&T Center on Wednesday for what would be his final NBA game, Mavericks president Donnie Nelson and Holger Geschwindner took a fascinating field trip.
Actually, the excursion, such as it was, was less than a football field in distance from the AT&T Center, but for Nelson and Geschwindner it was a trip back in time -- 21 years and 12 days to be exact.
