The Dallas Mavericks would be thinking about the playoffs right now in a normal season. Eight regular seasons games would be all that was left. The Mavs would have clinched a playoff spot and be deciding on how best to enter the postseason firing on all cylinders. That is a lot of “would”, though.
This has been anything but a normal NBA season. It started with Daryl Morey’s tweet that cost the NBA millions. That was followed by the loss of Kobe Bryant and former commissioner David Stern. Now, the league has suspended its season because of the novel coronavirus.
