Mavs Rumors: Sign Boogie Cousins? Isaiah Thomas To The Mavericks? + Dallas' Secret Weapon To Shake Up 2020 NBA Playoffs

The Dallas Mavericks are gearing up for a 2020 NBA Playoff run when the NBA season starts again in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately for Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks, Dwight Powell will not be returning to action after tearing his achilles. According to the latest Mavs rumors, the Mavericks do have another secret weapon in Maxi Kleber. Kleber has been one of the biggest free agent bargains of the summer, as he has proven himself as one of the best two-way big men in the league. Only three other players in the NBA, along with Maxi Kleber, have made at least 100 3-pointers and blocked at least 75 shots, including Maxi Kleber’s teammate, Kristaps Porzingis. IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW, host Jimmy Crowther breaks down why he could be the one player for Dallas that shakes up Orlando.

Mavs Rumors around Isaiah Thomas are swirling since he was waived by the Washington Wizards earlier this season. Now, he may be one of the most prized free agents leading up to the restart of the 2019-20 NBA season. Isaiah Thomas is 31 years old and has faced multiple injuries since his MVP-caliber seasons with the Boston Celtics, but his production for the Wizards this year could mean he gets another chance. Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers and other contenders could be calling for the services of an experienced point guard like Thomas, but the Dallas Mavericks may be real suitors for him after he liked a tweet mentioning the idea of him playing in a Mavs’ uniform.

DeMarcus Cousins was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers after the team decided to make room for Dion Waiters and Markieff Morris. Cousins has been rehabbing with the Lakers since tearing his ACL, and now he is looking to join a contender before the season starts up once again. The Mavericks have multiple healthy big men in Willie Cauley-Stein, Boban Marjanovic, Maxi Kleber and, of course, Kristaps Porzinigs. Many Mavs’ fans are in love with the idea of adding DeMarcus Cousins to Rick Carlisle’s rotation, but does it make sense when guys like Willie Cauley-Stein and Boban Marjanovic aren’t even averaging 15 minutes per game?
