Dallas Mavericks: Could the Mavs trade for Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes?

The Dallas Mavericks have been on top of the world as of late, and their recent surge is increasing the likelihood that they will be buyers before the February 20th NBA trade deadline.

Prior to the Dallas Mavericks' current 6-1 spurt in their past 7 games, several sources close to the Mavs were indicating that the franchise would be content in standing pat at the deadline.

However, as the Dallas Mavericks move up the standings in the Western Conference, rumors are mounting that Dallas could take a look at two Philadelphia 76ers rumored to be on the market--guard Evan Turner and center Spencer Hawes.

Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News indicated earlier today that the two young 76ers may both be on the way out of Philly in the next week--"I'd keep an eye on those Philly players (Turner and Hawes). Sounds like they are on wheels."

Both players would be intriguing puzzle pieces to analyze for a Mavericks team that has finally found continuity and consistency both from the starting lineup and the bench.

Despite playing for a bottom-dwelling Philadelphia 76ers squad, Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner are both having breakout seasons from a production standpoint--both Hawes (13.2 ppg) and Turner (17.5 ppg) are posting career-best scoring averages.
