3 Star Players The Mavs Could Trade For During The 2015-16 Season

The Dallas Mavericks' inability to "rescue" DeAndre Jordan from the pre-free agent moratorium hostage takeover staged by the Los Angeles Clippers has left the Mavs in need of a banner big man. Zaza Pachulia is a very interesting piece at center, but the line behind him at the position (Samuel Dalembert, JaVale McGee) leaves something to be desired. If the Mavs end up streaking towards a playoff berth in 2015-16, we have a good feeling they will entertain the thought of trading for another center. If so, who might they target? Here's 3 Star Players The Mavs Could Trade For During The 2015-16 Season.

C Roy Hibbert -- Los Angeles Lakers

Hibbert may never be a top-level offensive threat, but he's just a couple years removed from being the most feared defensive center in all of the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers took an interesting route this offseason, loading up with veterans to usher Kobe Bryant towards one last playoff berth. If that doesn't work (and we're guessing it won't), Hibbert will be in play for the Mavs.

C Hassan Whiteside -- Miami Heat

This may not seem likely with the super-team that Miami is attempting to build, but what happens if the Heat grow tired of Whiteside's off-the-court antics -- antics that have left many burned bridges in his wake from Sacramento, through the D-League, China and Lebanon. He's a mercurial one, to be sure. But, we're guessing the Mavs would be willing to take a gamble on his talent if they feel they're one big man short of being a major contender in the West.

C Joakim Noah -- Chicago Bulls

Noah was less than elite in 2014-15, but he's still a worthwhile big man building block at 30 years old. We have a suspicion that the Bulls would be willing to shop him for the right price. While Dallas may not be willing to pay said price if it includes high-leverage draft picks, Noah is still an interesting name that would provide the Mavs with everything they're looking for out of a big man. We're not saying that this is the most feasible of options. But, it's at least something to consider.
