Why pancakes and juice is what stood out most to Cowboys WR coach Sanjay Lal during Dallas' preseason opener

OXNARD, Calif. -- It wasn't rookie Michael Gallup's 30-yard touchdown catch that stood out most to receivers coach Sanjay Lal when he reviewed Thursday night's preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Lal made it clear that how the new-look receiving corps plays away from the ball will be prioritized as much as touchdown grabs and route precision.

"I loved the juice that they played with," Lal said Saturday. "Both at the point of attack and away from the ball, things you only see on the coaches' tape. We had a chop block, we had two pancakes.
