For the first time since 2004, the Dallas Cowboys completed a draft without selecting at least one linebacker.
Part of the reason is because they like the young players on their roster at the position. Sean Lee, Anthony Hitchens, Damien Wilson, Mark Nzeocha and Kyle Wilber give them some solid depth.
But the decision was also connected to their expectations for Jaylon Smith.
Last year's second round pick missed all of his rookie season recovering from a severe knee injury he suffered in his final college game. While many are skeptical of what Smith is going to be able to contribute, the Cowboys have spent the last couple of weeks sharing notable improvements in Smith's recovery.
