What's in a name? Let the many nicknames dished out by Cowboys DC Rod Marinelli to his players tell you

FRISCO -- Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli's nicknames for his players are legendary, evolving and never disappointing. When the 69-year-old -- leading what he says is the best unit he's had in his six seasons in Dallas -- lands on a name, there's a reason behind it.

Defensive end Randy Gregory, for instance, is "Seabiscuit," a nod to the championship racehorse who overcame a slow start to his career and became a symbol of hope.

"He just keeps coming," Marinelli explained of Gregory.

Gregory has overcome banishment from the NFL for multiple violations of the substance abuse policy to return to the league this season.
