The first Republican presidential debate was taking place Thursday while Jerry Jones was watching his team practice.
The Cowboys owner was asked if he tivoed the event so he could watch it all when he got back to his room. He paused for a second before answering.
“I’m not going there,’’ Jones said. “I almost messed up.’’
When reporters told Jones they love it when he messes up, he couldn’t help himself.
“Well, we have something in common, OK,’’ Jones said referring to Donald Trump, who has higher poll numbers than anyone else in the crowded field.
