The Dallas Cowboys have had a long lineage of above-average to franchise quarterbacks. There have only been three seasons in the Cowboys history when quarterbacks Don Meredith, Roger Staubach, Danny White, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo or Dak Prescott have not been on the roster.
Throughout the Cowboys history, eras have been defined by who was playing quarterback. By far the best eras were the 1970s and the 1990s when the team won two and three Super Bowls with Staubach and Aikman at the quarterback position.
