Trevon Diggs just made his post-Cowboys future painfully clear with one move

The inevitable end of the Trevon Diggs era arrived on Tuesday, as the Dallas Cowboys released the former All-Pro cornerback after an alleged incident following the team's Christmas Day win over the Washington Commanders.

A Maryland native, Diggs asked Brian Schottenheimer after the game if he could hang back in D.C. to spend time with his family. Schottenehimer insisted that Diggs should fly back with the team. The 27-year-old refused and didn't get on the plane. That turned out to be the final straw.

Rest assured, this won't be the last that Cowboys fans will hear from Diggs.
