FRISCO -- Alfred Morris will be ready Sunday to relieve rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, but perhaps more importantly he'll be there to lend his support.
Morris knows what awaits Elliott and quarterback Dak Prescott in the Cowboys' season opener against the Giants.
Prescott and Elliott will become only the second rookie quarterback-running back duo in Cowboys history to start in an opener. The only other time rookies started Week 1 at quarterback and running back for the Cowboys was in 1969, when Roger Staubach and Calvin Hill did it in a win over St. Louis.
The last time an NFL team began the season with a rookie quarterback and running back starting was in 2012.
