IRVING, Texas - When the Dallas Cowboys ruled the NFL, they had Hall of Fame players at the game's most important positions.
Quarterback Troy Aikman, running back Emmitt Smith, receiver Michael Irvin, cornerback Deion Sanders and pass-rusher Charles Haley are each in the Hall of Fame, and left tackle Mark Tuinei played in two Pro Bowls. Those are the most important positions because they’re the spots that have the most to do with scoring touchdowns or stopping the offense from scoring touchdowns.
When you look at the players the Cowboys had in those key spots at the end of last season, it should surprise no one that they wound up 4-12.
