Rod Marinelli's response when asked about Taco Charlton speaks volumes about the Cowboys defensive end's status

FRISCO -- Cowboys coach Jason Garrett made it clear Monday that 2017 first-round pick defensive end Taco Charlton will have to earn the opportunity in practice this week to play Sunday at Indianapolis.

Garrett has always made it competitive in practice among his players for the gameday roster spots. And clearly, he felt that Charlton hadn't earned the right to suit up Sunday against the Eagles.

Charlton was a healthy scratch, among the club's seven inactive players. He had been slowed by a shoulder injury in recent weeks but was active the previous week against New Orleans.
