The last time the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys played a postseason game at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, both teams had something to prove.

Forty years ago, a Rams team mired in off-field distractions squared off against a Cowboys squad looking to avenge a loss to Los Angeles earlier in the season. If Dallas could get past the Rams in the 1978-79 NFC Championship Game, the Cowboys were in line to repeat as Super Bowl champions and bring their second Lombardi Trophy to Dallas.
