Report: Cowboys releasing defensive end Charles Tapper, hopeful practice squad candidate

The Cowboys have a bevy of pass rushers on their roster, and that means making it was going to be hard this year. Unfortunately such was the case for Charles Tapper who is the latest release.

It feels like forever ago, but Tapper was the Cowboys other fourth round pick in 2016, the one they actually took ahead of Dak Prescott. Tapper has battled injuries and hasn’t really been able to catch on consistently with Dallas.

The report notes that Dallas is likely going to add Tapper to the team’s practice squad if he clears waivers, and that’s great to hear.
