Reality is that Tyron Smith cannot be counted on to play 16 games in a season, let alone 17 which will happen in the future, so the Cowboys have to have a proper swing tackle in place as a precaution.
For two years now that role has been filled by Cam Fleming and he has started six games in that time. He could be moving on though as the Cowboys won’t be picking up his option.
