Reliving the emotions of past Cowboys' drafts

FRISCO, Texas -- Each spring Jason Witten has his sons C.J. and Cooper watch the NFL draft.

“Not because I want them to follow football, but I want them to see that hard work pays off when you get drafted, and the emotion that kind of overtakes you -- that raw emotion -- it’s motivating,” the Dallas Cowboys tight end said. “It’s motivated me still to this day.”

Witten left Tennessee early in hopes of being a first-round pick, but that didn’t happen. He wasn’t a second-rounder, either. But he ended up in the right spot with the Cowboys and has a draft story worth telling.
