Recent decisions are an indication that stakes are high for 2019 Cowboys coaching staff

ATLANTA -- The Cowboys will plunge into the NFL’s brave, new offensive world with an assistant entering his second year in the profession and a head coach entering the final year of his contract.

The stakes are high for all involved.

Kellen Moore has been elevated to the role of offensive coordinator just 12 months after joining the staff as quarterbacks coach. His previous position will be filled by former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna. The moves, expected for close to two weeks, were announced in a release by the club Thursday afternoon.

The club issued no release about Jason Garrett’s status.
