Latest on Cowboys LT Tyron Smith struggling with back tightness; who would start vs. Packers in his place?

Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith will miss practice Thursday due to back tightness, head coach Jason Garrett said Thursday morning. Smith wasn't able to finish practice Wednesday after his back tightened, but Garrett hopes he will be able to practice Friday and play vs. the Packers on Sunday.

Backup tackle Byron Bell will start at left tackle if Smith isn't ready to go.

Cowboys don't believe LT Tyron Smith can make his back tightness/injury worse by playing through it. However, he has to be functional. He played through a bulging disc in his back in 2016, but didn't have surgery in the offseason.
