Kirk Cousins is the common denominator for the last three Cowboys backup quarterbacks

The Dallas Cowboys won on Sunday. It certainly was a long time coming. While the Cowboys had wandered all throughout the wilderness in search of their third total win of the season, it was a first in one important way. This was the first win that the Dallas Cowboys achieved without their starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, playing at all. That is significant.

The point here isn’t to lower the bar of expectation, but we have seen this organization completely crater without their top signal-caller under center. In many ways this season has felt reminiscent of the 2015 campaign and that year the Cowboys were only able to win one out of 12 games without Tony Romo.
