Jerry Jones: We're not giving up on Randy Gregory; 'Rome was not built in a day'

INDIANAPOLIS -- Jerry Jones is disappointed that the Cowboys will be without defensive end Randy Gregory for the first four games of the upcoming season. The NFL announced last week that last year's second-round pick had been suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

But Jones said Saturday that he's "not in any way giving up that [Gregory] can work through this."

"Anybody who has had any type of substance treatment knows that Rome was not built in a day," Jones said. "That's not being too tolerant. That's being patient. He just happens to have a job that has zero tolerance at some point for any ingestion of substance.
